Why does the exact birth time matter?

Birth time is used for the Hour Pillar and can affect timing context. Enter the local clock time recorded for the birth when it is known.

Why do you ask for birthplace and timezone?

The calculator interprets the date and time in the birth location's local civil-time context. Choose the birthplace and confirm its timezone rather than using your current location.

What if I do not know the birth time?

Select Unknown birth time. The calculator stores 12:00 as an explicit estimate, so the Hour Pillar and time-sensitive interpretation should be treated as uncertain.

Does the calculator apply true solar time?

No. It currently uses the local civil time and timezone you provide. True solar-time correction is not applied.

What is calculated, and what is AI interpretation?

Four Pillars and related chart fields are produced by deterministic code. Optional AI text interprets that saved chart context; it does not calculate the pillars from scratch.

What calculation limitations should I know about?

Historical timezone and daylight-saving changes are not modeled, true solar time is not applied, and the basic Five Elements display does not include every advanced strength factor.
